Hi. My swiss army knife has sap on it. not just the blade, but all in the recesses too. Is there some way to clean it, like soaking it in something, or using some cleaner with a q-tip? thanks

Bug-Tar-Sap remover for cars might work, and "Goo Gone" might also work. Don't know if you could soak a Swiss Army knife in either one though...

WD-40 works well. Spray it on and let is soak until the sap wipes off clean.

Soak it in gasoline overnight. Make sure to put it in a metal can or bucket, not paper of the gas will eat through.

Turpentine works well with sap. It is made from pine trees. WD-40 will work, too, as will almost any light solvent.

Lacquer thinner may dissolve the plastic on the knife. I would use mineral spirits or naptha. then wash with soap + water.

Soak it in vinegar or something that will dissolve the sap without ruining the blades. Or get a cleaning kit.
