Keep it Simple. Nothing says "I'm a jackass" faster than a ten page resume. Just use Word's resume maker, keep it to two pages and mostly academic accomplishments. Drop a line or two that you play sports or whatever to show your well rounded.

My comments apply to USA jobs:

    (1) no
    (2) NO
    (3) NO
    (4) YES

A photo is optional, but I recommend against it. Unless you are a model or actor, a photo is pointless. You are trying to sell you experience and education, not your face.

Do NOT include your nationality or date of birth on your resume. Employers CANNOT ask that information in an interview, either. The can ask you if you are legally able to work in the USA, but they cannot ask your nationality. If you are hired, you will need to provide proof of eligibility; US residents can provide a US passport or SS Card w/ photo ID. They cannot ask your age. I believe they can ask if you are 18 or older, but not your exact age.

As for activities: highlight your college stuff first. Then HS stuff. Awards (esp academic) and sports show an employeer that you are dedicated and motivated. Are you a memeber of your discipline's professional organization (ASME, ASCE, AIChE, IEEE, etc)? If so, make sure you get that on there. You can also list any relevant college coursework you have completed and any special skill or knowledge (software).

Good luck with the interview process. See if your school has a career center, they can help a lot by reviewing your resume or even mock interviews to help you get used to the process.
