I have had no idea how the mower is working before. I was asked to mowe the lawn and I thought that the mower might need gasoline. But I was so stupid and made big mistake by pouring the gasoline into the slot with the lable of "oil" and then I found the other slot with the picture like a gas tank. So, I know automatically that I had already made mistake. And I was so sorry to damage the mower. My dad will need to spend money to buy the new one if it was broken. Anything I can do to fix it? or what should I do to keep it work again? Thank you very much if anyone can give me advice...the answer will be highly appreciated.

you need to drain the oil tank. the gasoline will thin the oil out and cause additional wear to the motor. so look for a drain on the oil reservoir and drain it then refill with clean oil. mow the lawn and do it again. you want to do it several times till all of the gas is out.

Drain the contaminated oil and put new oil in.Start it up and go.Just that easy unless you ran it till it froze up.Then delete this answer because we just turned the page.

I assume that we are talking about a push or walk behind mower. If so. Don't tip it on it's side to find the oil drain plug. You will get oil in the carb, airfilter and generally make a mess. You will find the drain plug under the mower above the blade. Set the mower on some blocks so you can look and reach under it. The drain plug is usually square and you will need a wrench about 1/2". Drain the oil and replace it. If you didn't run it with the gas in the oil it should be fine. Always remove the spark plug wire before reaching under the mower.
