I currently have a teak dining room table and am looking for chairs to buy. I have found a nice parsons chair, a taupe colored microfiber that i like. the legs happen to be a dark brown color though....do you think this would look tacky or does it not matter, i am looking for honest and serious answers please....
i am mostly concerned about the light wood table and the dark legged chairs...i know the taupe matches anything.
The legs are considered a "light cappucino" but look very dark brown in the pics.

I would almost have to see it, but just by the description---I think it will look fine.

I think that the parsons chairs will clash with the teak table. You need something that is going to enhance the style of your table, not distract from it.

teak and taupe should go great together. I would imagine it sounds good but i don't know how dark, dark brown is to know whether everything would go together.

They will compliment each other nicely. Most people are afraid to mix woods but if you look at some of the mail order catalogs they freely mix woods. I think the key to tying these two colors together is to add some accessories that contains these colors. Light colored picture frames with dark brown matting or vice versa. Chocolate brown placemats or runners or draperies and neutral colored dinner ware with a pattern. Really your possibilities are endless.

Things do not need to match perfectly in order to pull together a look but it does take some savvy and a good eye to mix and match. Teak can have a slight orange cast to it so a brown leg could work. It more depends on the style of the table and chairs together. Or you could sand the chair legs and re-stain in a closer stain.
